Microsoft announced the Xbox one Senators

Grill company authorisation Teen Oversharing online Microsoft was the talk of the tech world yesterday after unveiling its next-generation gaming console, the Xbox One. The updated gaming and entertainment device will debut "later this year," Xbox chief Don Mattrick said during a launch event at Microsoft's Redmond headquarters. Pricing was not discussed. PCMag consumer electronics Analyst Will Greenwald said the new system looks promising but "uncomfortably familiar, with a camera control system we've seen before," thanks to the inclusion of a revamped Kinect sensor. In other news, Apple's top brass faced off against a Senate panel yesterday over tax practices that members of Congress claim has robbed the U.S. Treasury of billions in revenue. In lengthy opening statements, Sens. Carl Levin and John McCain, chairman and ranking member of the Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations, railed on Apple for a scheme that Levin called the "holy grail" of offshore tax avoidance.

Meanwhile, as McCain was ending his questioning he grumbled about Apple pushing out updates to his iPhone. The Arizona senator isn't the only one with qualms about the device. A new report found that the iPhone lost ground to Samsung's Galaxy lineup on customer satisfaction. Also making headlines yesterday, a recent Pew Internet study reveals that teens are sharing more information about themselves on social media sites than they have in the past.
