HP Slate 21 AIO unveiled with Tegra 4 processor

HP has announced the 21.5-inch HP Slate 21 AIO desktop PC that is pretty much an oversized Android tablet with keyboard and mouse.

The HP Slate 21 AIO was unveiled at a HP event in Beijing and combines an Android tablet with a desktop PC and is equipped with the Nvidia Tegra 4 processor.

“Honestly, that larger screen allows for a better shared experience,” said Eric Wiggins of Hewlett-Packard. “This could replace one or two mobile devices in your home that could be used as a shared device for the house.”

“Creating a large-screened device with touch functionality, we thought we could unlock more uses.”

HP Slate 21 AIO Features

Using a 21.5-inch Full HD resolution touchscreen, the HP Slate 21 uses the powerful Nvidia Tegra 4 mobile processor that was unveiled at CES 2013. The HP Slate 21 can support ten-finger multitouch input.

It uses Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean that offers access to the full array of Google apps. It has dual Digital Theatre Systems speakers built-in and a HP TrueVision HD webcam.

The 21.5-inch display is propped up using its own little kickstand in a kind of art easel fashion, but can also be laid at an approximate 30-degree angle, potentially for stylus drawing or simply provding a better angle for touchscreen Android gaming.

The HP Slate 21 AIO also packs Wireless Direct wireless printing technology.

HP has yet to release a full specs list for the HP Slate 21 but it will be interesting to see if such a large-screen Android desktop AIO is a viable option when it comes to market.
