New in iOS 7 zooming during video capture
As we continue to discover both the big features and smaller nice-to-haves in iOS 7 on an ongoing basis, it has just come to our knowledge that you can access the Camera’s zoom controls while shooting video.
Think twice before dismissing this feature because real-time zooming during video capture allows for some interesting possibilities normally associated with camcorders.
I can easily imagine this being even more useful on a 12-megapixel camera with improved night shooting rumored to make its way inside the iPhone 5S…
The feature only got a passing mention during Monday’s WWDC 2013 keynote – Apple doesn’t even detail them on the iOS 7 features web page.
To use zoom during video capture, just set the Camera app to Video mode by swiping left or right.
Upon hitting the big red red button to start recording, simply use the pinch gesture to zoom in and out during video capture. You can also tap-to-focus on your closeups as you’re shooting video.
To zoom out footage, pinch out anywhere on the screen or use the handy slider at the bottom part of the interface. Unfortunately, the slider doesn’t appear until you zoom in on the video.
To be honest, I would have preferred a persistent slider in order to avoid accidentally focusing instead of zooming in on my video.
If you’d like to take a still image during video capture, just hit the white button on the left. Check it out on the screenshot below – I was shooting a nice beach scene here just a few moments ago. This is a feature that was already available in iOS 6.
Stills get saved straight to the Camera Roll, without disrupting video capture in progress. You can take as many stills as you like and, of course, tap-to-focus or zoom in on the subject to frame your photo as you continue recording.
To be perfectly clear, Apple actually extracts a full HD frame from your video so these stills max out at 1,920-by-1,080 pixel resolution. You just can’t have full HD video capture and eight-megapixel camera working simultaneously, at least not with the current state of technology.
Jeff has a more detailed article on other aspects of the Camera and Photos app in iOS 7, if you’re interested.

Give your iPhone an iOS 7 makeover with this new theme
Folks feeling left out of all of the iOS 7 beta festivities will be happy to hear that there is now a way you can get in on the fun—no developer account required. A new theme just popped up in Cydia that promises to give your jailbroken iPhone an iOS 7-style makeover.
Now, obviously it’s not going to be exactly like iOS 7. You’re not going to get any of the new features that come with the major update, like the control center or the revamped Notification Center. But if you just want your iPhone to look like iOS 7, this theme is for you…
The theme is, aptly, called ‘iOS 7 Theme,’ and yes it requires WinterBoard. But if you can get past that, you’re just one quick download away from having the highly controversial, redesigned iOS 7 stock app icons scattered across your jailbroken iOS 6 device’s Home screen.
Unfortunately, new icons are about all you’ll get. It’s not nearly as expansive as ayecon, or some of the other more popular themes available right now. That being said, the iOS 7 Theme was put together in just a few days, so it’s possible we could see updates in the future.
But what it does, it does well. I’m using the iOS 7 beta on my iPhone 4S, and the icons on my iPhone 5 running the iOS 7 theme are a dead ringer (maybe they’re even the exact same ones). So, depending on how you feel about the iOS 7 icons, you may really like it.
Those really wanting to make their device look like it’s running iOS 7 can pickup the iOS 7 Lock screen theme, available in BigBoss. And I would recommend the BlurriedNCBackground, a theme for Notification Center that makes it look somewhat similar to iOS 7.
Anyway, if you want to check out the iOS 7 Theme, it’s available in Cydia, in the ZodTTD & MacCiti repo for free.

Last November’s release of iTunes 11 has brought out a handy new feature which lets you redeem a code found on iTunes Gift Cards by scanning the printed card with your Mac’s FaceTime camera. In iOS 7, Apple is taking iTunes card scanning to any compatible iOS device outfitted with a back camera.
Not only that, Apple states that new iOS 7 APIs for developers include barcode scanning as standard…
Hat tip to Beau Giles for spotting this new capability.
The feature is available in the App Store storefront app on the device. Just hit the Redeem button at the bottom of the Featured section.
The interface, depicted in the screenies top of post, offers you to either type in the code manually or use your iPhone’s camera in order to scan the card. iTunes card scanning requires “a gift card with a box around the code,” the prompt cautions.
I’ve noticed that scanning only works with the back-facing iSight camera as there’s no button to switch to the forward-facing FaceTime cam. Also, tap-to-focus functionality is disabled so you’ll have to bring in your card close enough.
This is a handy feature.
I’m loving how Apple is unifying the experience across devices with the little touches like iTunes card scanning via Mountain Lion Macs, and now through iOS 7 mobile devices.
According to Apple’s portal for developers, new camera-focused APIs include the ability to “scan and recognize barcodes with the camera” as well as video capture at 60 frames per second for dramatic slow-motion scenes.
Among other camera functions available to developers: zoom level controls and custom video compositing APIs for creating video effects and transitions by combining multiple video tracks.

Alongside OS X Mavericks and iOS 7, Apple showed off its new web-based ‘iWork for iCloud’ software suite during its Monday keynote. The suite, similar to Google Docs and Office 360, allows users to view and edit iWork, and other documents right from their browser. And Apple just activated a beta version of it for registered developers. iWork for iCloud exists totally in the cloud, meaning that it’s accessible via Safari, Internet Explorer and other browsers. The web-based app suite includes Pages, Numbers and Keynote, and editing and viewing documents in these apps looks and feels almost identical to their native counterparts animations and other UI elements included.
Registered developers can access the iWork for iCloud beta by visiting beta.icloud.com. If you’re not seeing the new apps, don’t worry, it looks like a lot of devs are still seeing the old iWork icons. Just check back later today. Unfortunately, it looks like those who aren’t developers are going to have to wait until the fall to access it.

Apple's iOS seems to graphics on the site 7 iPads
In spite of the reform of the management of CEO Tim Cook conducted last year of Apple's marketing and site sections do not show sufficiently closely. What only can be attributed to human error image files found on Apple's website earlier today offered a glimpse of the current iOS iOS icons in 7 different than 7 Beta 1.
Another find is related to graphics outlining the device compatibility picture images iOS iPad and iPad mini 7 ...
French blog iGen. fr passes through spotted shot down Apple iOS 7 features at the top of a web page. If anything, it tells us, iOS 7 does not look different from the iPads, iPhones and the iPod touch.
For what it's worth, it has been sitting since Monday's WWDC keynote in 2013.
Apple'S WWDC is disappointed by the developers, who wanted to get their hands on the iPad is a build of iOS 7. The IPad version of the executives said, it is time to complete and will be posted on Apple's portal for developers at a later stage.
iGen was spotted also another image depicting the a bigger canvas iOS 7 music program.
Again, pretty much what you can expect and compatible with the iPhone.
Not much else to conclude these pictures.
A red icon on the home screen, you can say (the third in the third row on the left)?
It is probably the Photo Booth on the iPad.
Speaking of, what the iPhone version, this fun app?
And while we're at it, might want to port the stunning iOS 7 Weather app for iPad?
